GMC Preop PGP Angels

I am so excited to share that I am participating a special event, Paint Gwinnett Pink 5K Walk/Run, that will be making a difference in my community.  I want my involvement to make a reaching impact---that's why I am asking for your support.

As a Registered Nurse I have been given the opportunity to interact with a number of different people affected by cancer. Being there for my patients when they are first diagnosed, assisting them in accepting the journey that they are about to embark. I have played many roles in their journey as an Educator, Advocate and a friend assisting them to navigate this maze that we call health care delivery system and reaching different mile stones from patients to becoming survivors.

Today (Sept 16 2017) was an eye opener, went to facebook to reach out an old friend that was newly diagnosed with a tumor to his spine in Feb of this year found out they pass away in march exactly 5 weeks after he shared his diagnosis. Never wait to get in touch with your friends. You never know when you will not get another opportunity. RIP my friend. Cancer Sucks.

As a friend to many survivors and soring angels I hope by creating this fundraiser I may be able to help someone in need .
