Pam's Pink Posse
Hey, Y'all!
As you may know, in October of 2016 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As scary as that time was for my family and me, I received the best of care at Suburban Hematology-Oncology Associates and Center for Cancer Care of Gwinnett Medical Center.
While I was still undergoing treatments, I heard about the Paint Gwinnett Pink 2017 5k. At that time I was too tired and weak to walk very much at all, but I was determined to be ready to participate in that event! When I found out that the walk/run was the first week of October-one year from the date of my diagnosis, I KNEW that I HAD to do this!
On Saturday morning-October 7, 2017 I stood at the starting line at Coolray Field with tears in my eyes. I was surrounded by my "posse", along with so many other cancer survivors. It was such an emotional, uplifting experience. We were all there to celebrate life, and to raise money for a worthy cause!

The proceeds from Paint Gwinnett Pink provides the following for patients here in Gwinnett County: funding for the latest diagnostic technology for breast cancer, access to mammograms and surgical consultations, comfort items needed during cancer treatments, and so much more!
In case you are wondering about the name of my team-Pam's Pink Posse.
Posse: The definition of a posse is a group of people who come together for a common goal or who stand up for something together.
So, once again, I am rounding up the old posse (and hopefully adding some new folks!) to band together in solidarity for one goal-to support an event that provides much-needed resources for individuals in need who are facing a breast cancer diagnosis.
Please join in! Together we can make a difference in the lives of some deserving cancer patients and have a great time in the process!!
